Clients hire DBPI for 3 main reasons – Expertise, Execution, and Excellence. In a line, DBPI gives results. Here are some case studies you give an idea of the business impact DBPI delivers from data, analytics, cybersecurity, and AI.
CASE STUDY 1
Xenon Arc is a North American Food Supplier and Distributor that helps large industrial producers (like DuPont, Cargill, Momentive, Griffith Foods etc.) engage their underserved or long tail customer segments. Xenon Arc needed insights or value levers from existing transactional data tofurther imrpve business performance. The specific ask from Xenon was to derive insights across all the firm’s customer and product segments from data including customer buying patterns, inventory management, pricing and promotions, assortment optimization, and omnichannel performance. DBPI and its partner consultants applied a combination of descriptive analytics, predictive analytics, and prescriptive analytics techniques and derived over 15 actionable insights in just 6 weeks resulting in a gross profit of 8.2% for Xenon. These insights covered areas such as price sensitivity, seasonality trends, customer lifetime value, customer acquisition cost, pareto analysis, price elasticity demand, inventory turns ratio, and more.

Payload Technologies is a Canadian Oil Field Services (OFS) technology company based in Calgary, Canada. Payload wanted to monetize the data that collected over 5 years and offer insights as a new data analytics product. DBPI worked with the Payload's leadership team and developed a data product. The project started with building a solid business case. Relevant data was identified and integrated from various transactional systems into the Snowflake datawarehouse. The data was processeed and prersented as reports and dashboards using the Google Looker tool. The data product resulted in a new revenue stream for Payload Technologies and improved the revenue of the firm by 3% in the first year itself with an ROIC of 26%.
"With Dr.Southekal's approach and guidance, we have not only created high value data products for existing users but also opened a new side to our business previously not considered."
Chris Lambert, CEO, Payload Technologies, Canada
CASE STUDY 3
NL Fisher manages construction and development of oil and gas wellsite locations in Western Canada. To review the business and drilling performance in the wellsite locations, the company had 14 reports mapped to the business KPIs in their EIM (Enterprise Information Management) application. However, each of these 14 reports developed in MS PowerBI took a very long time; an average time of 80 seconds to render. The DBPI team lead by Dr. Southekal analyzed the system architecture, data flows, data model, data quality levels, and user needs and found that the actual reporting was based out of numerous tables from many transactional systems, and this resulted in long query processing times. The team designed and implemented a centralized data warehouse on Microsoft Azure by consolidating the data in fewer database tables, but larger "flatter" ones. With the new architecture, the business team was to execute query and derive the output or insights on the 14 reports in less than 2 seconds.
"In just a few weeks DBPI improved the report performance by 10X times!"."
Siva Sam, EIM Product Manager, NL Fisher, Canada
